Northwest Indiana Forum Joins in Opposition to Asian Carp Lawsuit

The Northwest Indiana Forum has come out against a lawsuit filed by the State of Michigan asking the United States Supreme Court to force the State of Illinois to close Chicago-area locks in an effort to stop the advancement of Asian carp into the Great Lakes.

The Forum’s announcement follows the Obama administration’s announcement of similar opposition to the lawsuit earlier today.

The Forum is advocating for a more comprehensive and long-term approach to eradicate the Asian carp in the Inland Waterway System and Great Lakes.

Notes: Feds Oppose Closing Chicago Shipping Locks

The Obama administration has come out against closing shipping locks in Chicago to prevent the spread of Asian carp into the Great Lakes.
