Conexus Launches Indiana b2b Web Site

The Conexus Indiana advanced manufacturing and logistics initiative announced today it has launched Indiana Supplier INsight, a web-based community linking Indiana firms with suppliers within the state. Sponsored by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), Indiana Supplier INsight will create new opportunities for companies of all sizes, while streamlining supply chains and encouraging Hoosiers doing business with Hoosiers.

Indiana Supplier INsight will provide tangible benefits to manufacturers and other businesses, as the geographic proximity of suppliers means streamlined operations, reductions in transportation costs, more manageable oversight and other advantages. Access to these potential customers creates a wealth of new business opportunities for Indiana companies.

ICVA Names Business Development Veep

The Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association has named Janet Arnold Vice President for Business Development.

Arnold, with more than 28 years experience in philanthropy and marketing for non-profit institutions in the United States and Great Britain, began her duties on February 22. Her position is being financed by a grant from the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce.

“This partnership, which may be unique among chambers and convention and visitors bureaus, is representative of Indianapolis and the collaboration and ‘community first’ attitude we have here,” said Roland Dorson, president of the Chamber of Commerce. “Janet’s efforts will benefit both the ICVA and our membership.”

Lear Expanding in Hammond

Lear Operations Corporation (Hammond), a global manufacturer of automotive seating and electrical power management systems, will expand its Lake County operations, creating more than 285 new jobs by the end of the year.

The company, which designs and manufactures complete seating systems and components for automotive manufacturers, will invest more than $2.2 million to upgrade and adjust equipment at its 110,000 square-foot facility to manufacture seating for the Ford Explorer.
