Clarian to Become Indiana University Health

After launching the most significant customer and market research in the history of Clarian Health – which included gaining insight from nearly 1,400 patients and their families, referring physicians and staff members throughout the state – Clarian is announcing an historic change to more clearly define its mission and statewide focus.

Clarian will change its name to Indiana University Health effective early 2011. Indiana University Health will better identify Clarian’s unique brand of nationally recognized health care, reinforce its partnership with Indiana University and the IU School of Medicine, which provides patients with access to innovative research and treatments, and better reflect the breadth of its mission.

Southern Indiana Initiative Aimed at New Businesses

A new initiative has been launched in Southern Indiana by the Region 9 Workforce Board to help individuals looking to start or grow their own small business. SoINbiz, short for Southern Indiana Business, is a universal front door for entrepreneurs to connect them to organizations, programs, and people to help their small businesses succeed.

One of the most unique aspects of the program is the Front Door Champ. Front Door Champs are experienced entrepreneurs or business development professionals who serve as a local advocate on behalf of aspiring entrepreneurs. They are someone with a local knowledge of the business community and proven success in the same rural environment while leveraging the exact same resources and conditions. The purpose of the Front Door Champs is to provide access to someone who can counsel, help, assist, mentor, and provide entrepreneurs with the necessary tools they will need in order to succeed.
